The objective of the study is to evaluate the role of an herbal preparation in the grade-I and grade-II and recalcitrant cases of oral submucous fibrosis and its consequent improvement in trismus and mouth opening and reduction in burning sensation and also to assess the changes in the levels of serum IL-6 and serum antioxidants after administration of the preparation both topically and systemically.
Method: The study comprised of minimum 30 patients having OSMF aged from 16 and up to 60 years attending the OPD of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dental Sciences, King George's Medical University, Lucknow.
